Alene Spicer

A funeral service for Alene Spicer will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 11:00 A.M at the Wilson Orwosky Chapel in Emory, Texas. A Visitation will be held one-hour prior at 10:00 am at Wilson Orwosky Chaple. Interment will follow service at Pilgrams Rest Cemetery in Emory, Texas.

Alene Spicer, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, at the age of 97. Born on January 17, 1927, to Jessie Childers and Inez Childers (Spencer), Alene had a creative and Godly spirit that would influence her life and the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.

She was born and raised in Emory and graduated from Emory High School. She embarked on a career as a secretary. Alene retired from Safeway, a proud culmination of her career that allowed her to touch the lives of many.

Alene expressed her creativity through various hobbies and interests. She was a gifted writer, known for her poems, including a cherished piece that is on the back of her program. Her love for music was evident in her talents as a guitarist and pianist, which provided her with joy and an opportunity to connect with others.

Alene's personality and Godly nature made her a beacon of light in the lives of her friends and family. She will be remembered not only for her artistic endeavors and dedication to her work but also for the kindness and love she shared so freely throughout her life. Alene Spicer leaves behind a heartfelt legacy, one that inspires creativity and faith in all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Alene is survived by her stepson, Charlie Spicer.

Alene is preceded in death by her husband, Charley Spicer; parents, Jessie Childers and Inez Childers (Spencer), as well as her four sisters and three brothers.
