Earl Allen Kelley Jr., a beloved member of the Emory community, has passed away at the age of 67. Earl was born on September 18, 1955, in McKinney, Texas, and he peacefully departed from this world on August 16, 2023, at his home in Emory, Texas.
Throughout his life, Earl pursued a career as both a bus driver and a truck driver. He dedicated many years of service to the Rains County school district, where he had the joy of driving a school bus for countless children. Earl's proudest accomplishments came from this role, as he had a connection with the young students who rode on his bus. His caring nature and kind-heartedness made him a respected figure among the students and their families.
Outside of his career, Earl shared a strong bond with his loving wife, Martha. Together they stood united against all odds and faced life's challenges as a team. Their unwavering love and support for each other were an inspiration to those around them.
Earl was known by his community for his warm personality and friendly demeanor. His genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Whether it was through a simple smile or lending a helping hand, Earl touched the lives of many and earned the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
Earl is survived by his loving wife, Martha Kelley; brother, Robert Kelley; brother-in-law, Ronnie Wayne Smith; sister-in-law, Carol and husband Ricky Erickinson; nephews, Lonny Smith and wife Jennifer, Scottie Smith and wife Amanda and Christian and wife; family friends, Sharon Paulson and husband Olav, David Gaston, and Jay Gaston.
He is reunited in Heaven with his parents and faithful dog Sugar Bear; they were an inseparable pair.
Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects at Wilson - Orwosky Funeral Home located at 803 N. Texas St., Emory, TX 75440 on August 19th, 2023. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Earl will then be laid to rest at Clifton Cemetery in Point, TX during an interment ceremony starting at 12:00 PM.
Earl Kelley leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be held dear by his loved ones. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched. As we say farewell to a beloved husband, friend, and community member, let us remember Earl's legacy of kindness and compassion. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
