Betty Weeden

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory on, Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 1:00 pm.  A visitation service will begin at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Lone Star Cemetery in Point.  Pallbearers will be:  Dustin Trussell, Jordan Williams, Bret Kolbe, Tony Lawrence, Claye Smith, Charlie Jusko.  Honorary Pallbearers are:  Joe Frank Rascoe, Sean Weeden, Andrew Lawrence, Cy Williams, Brody Trussell.

Mrs. Weeden passed away at home on February 10, 2022, at 6:25 am.  She was born in Woosley, on June 5, 1931, to Sam Montgomery Fenter and Clara Prince Fenter along with her twin brother Johnny Lee Fenter born 15 minutes earlier than Betty Marie.  She met the love of her life during High School in Point.  At 16 years of age, she married Jimmie Lee Tidwell and remained married for a lifetime of 52 years before his passing.  Betty & Jimmie worked at Sears Roebuck and Company on Lamar Street in Dallas for 34 years.  After retiring from Sears, Betty was involved in a lot of Social Activities throughout Rains County.  She judged antiques at the County Fair for many years.  She was a member of the Homemakers in Emory & President of the Ladies Civic Club in Point.  She was an avid Crafter and taught and shared her Crafts every chance she got.  Betty loved her Church & Church family there in Point, where she lived over ½ her life.  She was VBS Director for many years at the First Baptist Church, where she followed in her Parents footsteps and became a lifelong member.  Following the passing of Jimmie, she went to work at Walmart in Greenville as the telephone operator for 12 years.  During that time, she met Johnny Ray Weeden.  They married and lived in Point for 8 years before moving to Weatherford.  John & Betty moved to Weatherford to be closer to her daughter due to health reasons, they were married for 11 years prior to his passing.  While in Weatherford, Betty joined Couts Memorial Methodist Church along with her daughter Diane and son-in-law Danny Ballard, with whom she resided with in Peaster until her death.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Jimmie Lee Tidwell, husband of 11 years Johnny Ray Weeden; Father, Sam Montgomery Fenter; Mother, Clara Price Fenter; brothers, Averal Montgomery (Pete) Fenter, Theo Lester (Hot) Fenter, Johnny Lee Fenter;  sisters, Cleo Ester Fenter, Odell Fenter Rascoe & one son, Danny Joe Tidwell.

Her surviving children are Darlene Bennett of Bedford, Donnie Lee Tidwell of Athens, Diane Ballard (Danny Ballard) of Peaster, & Jimmie Dewayne Tidwell stationed in Korea; Stepson, Sean Weeden (Reiko) of Virginia.  Betty leaves behind a big legacy of 14- Grand Children, 29- Great Grand Children, 7 ½  Great-Great-Grand Children, nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends.
