Beverly Ann Barton, age 84, of Emory, passed away tragically on Sunday, July 21, 2019, in an automobile accident just outside of Greenville.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Friday, July 26, 2019, at Emory Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Emory City Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM, at the church. Services will be officiated by Bro. Robert Burns and Bro. Chris Henderson.
Beverly Ann was born on March 12, 1935, in Maud, OK, to the parentage of James Escar and Mildred Ellen Barrow Collum. She graduated high school and went on to marry Charles Wade Barton, in Tecumseh, OK, on March 23, 1955. They were married 50 years before he passed away in 2015. They settled in Emory in 1963, where they put down roots and raised their family. She worked as the Nurses Aide at Rains Independent School District for some 25+ years. Beverly was a member of Emory Baptist Church and she loved the Lord with all her heart. She cherished her children and her grandchildren and loved to brag about them....they brought much joy and fulfillment to her life. Beverly never met a stranger...she radiated God's love where ever she went and to whomever she met. Beverly enjoyed cooking and was famous for her peanut brittle, her fried pies, and she dearly loved to bake and always had a starter of sourdough bread handy to make her delicious rolls and cinnamon rolls. She brought joy to many friends in this community by making deliveries of her fresh baked goods, brittle, or fried pies. Beverly was loved by so many people in this town and she will truly be missed...but we take comfort in KNOWING that she's with her Heavenly Father and we WILL see her again.
