Billie Ruth Shotwell died Saturday afternoon January 22, 2022, at Cedar Hollow Nursing Home in Sherman. She was 11 days shy of her 93rd birthday.
She was born February 2, 1929, in Alba, Texas to Leo Parker and Lola Middleton. She loved being mother to her 7 children, Granny to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She worked as waitress at Lone Oak Café in Balch Springs and Y’all come back in Emory. She loved people. She was a member of Emory Baptist Church.
She married Calvin Shotwell Sr. in Rockwall on March 20, 1946. They would have been married 76 years in March 2022 if both were still alive. Their love and life together was a match made in Heaven.
She was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 10 great, great-grandchildren
Billie Ruth is survived by daughters, Pamela Ruth Minor and husband Mark of Sherman, Sylvia Jean Chadwick and husband Chad of Ft. Worth; sons, Jack E. Shotwell and wife Patricia of Chandler, Steven Lee Shotwell and wife Cindy of Combine.
She is preceded in death by husband, Calvin Melburn Shotwell Sr.; sons, Calvin Melburn “Butch” Shotwell Jr., Larry Lynn Shotwell, Tony Dewayne Shotwell; granddaughter, Cara Ann Delmae Shotwell; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Adams Shotwell; brother, Bobby Earl Parker; sister, Leola Faye Dunn; mother, Lola Middleton Parker; father, Leo “Big Daddy” Parker.
