Claudia Beggs

Claudia "Jan" Janet Beggs, age 79, of Emory, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Funeral service will be Monday, October 28, 2019, at 2:00 PM, Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory, Bro. Billy Smith officiating. No visitation. Interment will follow in Dunbar Cemetery.

Claudia Janet Beggs, known to most everyone as Jan, was born in Dallas on January 14, 1940, to Claud Lincoln and Vernon Swor Marrs. She graduated from Irving High School. She married Gerald Pat Beggs in Oklahoma in 1957 and they were married some 34 years. At age 17 she began her insurance working career at Southland Life Insurance Company, where she worked for four years. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Richardson for 20 years. Finally retiring in 2001 after another 20 years as the Manager over the insurance department for the City of Dallas. She also successfully owned and managed two gas station/convenient stores, one in Lone Oak and the other in Fruitvale, several rental properties, and a 50 acre farm in Rains County. She was a member of the ASPCA because of her love for all animals. She was very happy to be Grandmother and Great-grandmother, because she loved her family more than anything in this world.

Brother: Guy Marrs of Comanche, OK
Brother-in-law: Jim Beggs of Irving
Friend/Like a Sister: Debera Jones (D.J.) of Dallas
Grandchildren: Elisha Beggs and Jessica Beggs
Great-grandchildren: Rylie Pat, Payton and Kyler
Numerous other loving family and friends.
