A funeral service for David Wallace, age 93, will be held at Wilson Orwosky Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 1:00 P.M; a visitation will be held an hour prior. Pall bearers will be Connor Jackson, Christopher Jackson, Eugene “Skip” Arnold, Keith Dodson, Chris David Wallace Jr., and David Wilcher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sampson Wallace Jr, John Wallace, Shawn Byrd, Chris David Wallace, and Russell Wayne Winn.
David Wallace, a beloved husband, father, and respected member of the community, passed on June 7, 2024, in his hometown of Emory, TX. He was born on June 20, 1930, in Fruitvale, TX to parents W.C. Wallace and Rosie (Hays) Wallace.
David led a remarkable life filled with dedication and hard work. After bravely serving in the Army during the Korean War and sustaining burn injuries while on duty, he was honorably discharged with 100% disability in October 1957. His service and sacrifice for his country exemplified his unwavering commitment to duty and honor.
Following his military career, David embarked on a successful journey in the business world. He worked in Dallas, TX, owned several small businesses, and eventually established Tiger Excavating in Quinlan, TX in the late 1970s. The growth of his enterprise led to the founding of John Wallace Excavating in 1985. David's entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic were truly admirable.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, David was known for his love of farming and fishing. He found solace and joy in tending to his garden and spending quality time fishing with his beloved wife, Myrtle. Family meant everything to David, as he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
One of David's proudest accomplishments was marrying Myrtle Wallace on March 29, 1978. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership throughout life's ups and downs. David held dear memories of his previous marriages to Kimiko Wallace, Norma Wallace, and Etta May Wallace.
An avid farmer at heart with a passion for nature's beauty, David will be remembered for his warm personality and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. He lived a life filled with integrity and compassion that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
David leaves behind a loving family including his wife Myrtle Wallace; Daughter, Christy Wallace Owen of McKinney, TX and husband Wayne Owen Son Chris David Wallace of Howe, TX, Daughter, Sharon Lee Wallace of Dallas, TX, Daughter, Denise Lamothe of Tomball, TX and Husband Steve Lamothe, Daughter, Jennifer Wallace of Emory, TX, Son, John Wallace of Emory, TX, Step-daughter, Darlene Kitchens of Dallas, TX, Step-daughter, Charlene Blanchard of Parkland, FL and husband Augusto Blanchard. Stepdaughter, Mary Ann Cowart of Emory, TX, Stepson, Eugene “Skip” Arnold of Emory, TX and wife Theresa Arnold, Stepdaughter, Dallas Theurer of Point, TX and husband Jason Theurer, 20 Grandchildren and many Great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by Parents, W.C. and Rosie Wallace, Sons; Corbett Wallace and Wayford Lee Wallace, Stepdaughter, Rosalind Walker, Grandson, Ronnie Marshall Jr., Brothers; Dendon Wallace and Bonnie Lynn Winn, Sisters; Clara Ruth Wallace and Dessie Ragland and Daughter-in-law Carolynn Wallace.
In honoring David's memory, let us celebrate a life well-lived—a life dedicated to service, family, love, and lasting connections that will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace knowing he made an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
