Deward Shipp

Sonny Shipp passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in Carrollton at Baylor Scott and White Hospice Center.
He was born Oct. 25, 1942, in Emory, to the parentage of Walter Wayne and Glenna
Ophelia Teer Shipp.
Sonny served his country during the 60's in the Army Reserves.
He married Lou Cheryl Jones in Garland on Oct. 28, 1966.
During his working career, Sonny was a firefighter and worked
with the Duncanville Fire Department until retirement.
Sonny and Cheryl were members of Emory Baptist Church.
He was a dedicated family man...He was a wonderful husband,
great father, and loving grandfather.
Survivors include:
Wife: Cheryl Shipp of Emory
Son: Jay Shipp and wife Rachel of Flower Mound
Daughters: Wendy Shipp Thurman and husband Jarrod of Emory,
and Robin Shipp Herman of Emory
Brother: Jerry Shipp and wife Glenna of Frisco
Sisters: Anita Renfro and husband Robert of Quinlan
and Ronda Petrea and husband Mike of Quinlan
Grandchildren: Hannah Shipp; Kyle Thurman; Katie Thurman
and Jace Herman

Visitation will be held 10:00 am... one hour prior to service
