E. O. Gaston, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 3, 2024, leaving a void in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. E. O was born on August 19, 1947, in Jayton, TX to Oscar Gaston and Mildred (Springer) Gaston.
E. O.'s vibrant life was marked by an unwavering work ethic and a genuine love for people and animals. Over the years, he pursued various careers. He excelled in construction work, spent time behind the wheel as a truck driver. However, it is safe to say that E. O.'s true calling lay with his deep connection to the cowboy way of life and his remarkable skill with cows. Beyond his professional endeavors, E. O. had a larger-than-life personality that drew people towards him like moths to a flame. He possessed a unique ability to tell it like it was while still maintaining an undeniable likability that endeared him to everyone he encountered. E. O.'s compassionate nature knew no bounds—he would drop everything he was doing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. One of E.O.'s favorite pastimes was shooting the bull with those around him—the pleasure of engaging in lively conversations brought joy to his heart and formed countless friendships along the way.
E.O.'s memory will forever be cherished by those closest to him: his son Kirk Gaston and wife Donna; his daughter Paula Luzetti; his mother, Mildred Gaston; his brother, Kinne Lee Gaston; his granddaughter Bo Devereaux, and countless other family members and friends who were touched by E.O.'s kind spirit and infectious personality.
He was greeted in Heaven by his dad, brother, Dwayne Gaston, nephew Windle Gaston and sister-in-law, Beverly Gaston.
E.O. Gaston will be remembered not only for his strong work ethic and cowboy spirit but also for the immeasurable impact he had on the lives of those around him. During this time of mourning, let us find solace in the priceless moments we shared with E.O. and honor the legacy of a remarkable man who embodied kindness, sincerity, and a zest for life that inspired all who knew him.
