Edward Smith, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on November 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
He was proud veteran of the Air Force and had a remarkable career that spanned 30 years with Utilities Construction.
Edward’s strength and selflessness were evident in all aspects of his life; he made it his mission to create a nurturing and safe environment for those around him. Edward took immense pride in his role as a father and grandparent, taking in four grandchildren and lovingly raising them as his own.
Ed’s amazing personality shone brightly in every encounter. He had a remarkable ability to make every day a great day, always cracking jokes and lifting spirits with his infectious laughter. He was strong, both physically and emotionally; his selflessness was a testament to the love he had for his family and friends.
He was more than just a provider; he was a man who truly loved working tirelessly, often dedicating countless hours to ensure his family's happiness and well-being. His home was an open door for anyone in need, embodying his belief in offering shelter and comfort to all.
As we remember Edward Smith, we celebrate a life that was rich with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish the amazing man he was.
He is survived by his children, Kathie Purcell and husband Glynn, Amy Bell, Montana Smith and fiancé Brittany, Heather Werner and husband R.L., Cheyenne Smith, McKynzie Smith, Levi Smith and Tifini Anderson, Janae Smith; grandchildren, Austin Browning, Julia Purcell, Ridge Browning; great-grandchildren, Colton Smith, Avery Smith; sisters, Brenda Dudley, Deborah Ramsey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ed is preceded in death by his wife, Sherri Smith; parents, Robert Edward Smith and Nova Jean Phelps Smith; sister, Kathy Casey.
