Frances Northcutt

Funeral service for Frances Ecra "Dude" Harrell Northcutt, 91, of Emory are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Smyrna Union Church in Rains County with Rev. Montie L. Parker, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, Feb. 28, at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory.

Mrs. Northcutt died February 25, at Senior Suite Care and Rehab in Emory, TX, after a short illness. She was born Oct. 30, 1922 in Vera, TX, Knox County, to Charles Jasper and Mary Frances Turner Harrell. She married John Marvin Northcutt in Emory, TX on Dec. 24, 1941, with Rev. Albert A. Clark officiating.

Mrs. Northcutt lived most of her life in and near the Smyrna community and attended the New Holmes School and Emory High School. She was a long-time member of First Assembly of God in Emory and had been actively involved in church, community, and volunteer activities. During the years her children were in school she was involved in school activities and served two years as PTA president for the Emory (and later Rains) school system.

Serving as pallbearers are John Huizar, James Moon, JonMarc Moon, Joe Paul Hogue, Randy Johnson, and Montie L. Parker, Jr. serving as pallbearers.

Survivors include her husband: Marvin Northcutt of Emory; a son: Jasper Northcutt of Emory; three daughters: Alice Northcutt of Springfield, MO, Virginia Northcutt of Emory, and Avis Huizar and husband Chio of Emory; a sister: Murline Hogue of Emory; four grandchildren: Toni Gambill and husband Roger of Leonard, TX, Teresa Huizar of Washington, DC, Christina Huizar of Austin, TX and John Huizar of Austin, TX; two great-grandsons: James Moon of Plano, TX and JonMarc Moon of Altus, OK.

Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers: Robert Harrell (infant), Charles (C.V.) Harrell; and Fines (Sider) Harrell; and five sisters: Vestell Jordan, Clara Johnson, Elsa Abney, Lee Ivie, and Ava Harrell (infant).

Funeral service is under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory.
