Funeral service for Gordon H. Krantz, of Emory will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Emory Baptist Church. Rev. Michael Holcomb will officiate. Burial will follow at Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, April 16, from 6-8 pm at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.
Gordon Hooper Krantz, 70, of Emory died on April 13. 2014. He was born on July 16, 1943 in Kingsport, Tennessee to Seth Myron and Ann Hooper Krantz. He spent the first 19 years of his life in Rogersville, Tennessee, the next 34 years in Houston, where he attended the University of Houston and was a manager in the Insurance field. He married Nancy Neal Harmon on June 29, 1968 in Oak Ridge, TN. They were married for some 45 years. He spent the last 18 years in Emory, where he planned and developed Rolling Fork RV and Mobile Home Park on Lake Fork.
He was an active community member, patron, and volunteer, wherever he lived. He was an active member of the Emory United Methodist Church. He was an active member of several different Masonic lodges, including Holland Masonic Lodge #1, which was the oldest lodge in Texas, one in Germany where he lived for two years, and at the time of his death he was an active member of the Yantis Masonic Lodge #382.
An avid sportsman, Gordon was a lifelong hunter and fisherman. He moved to Lake Fork because of his love of bass fishing.

Daughter: Catherine Neal Krantz of Zihuatanejo, Gro, MX
Brother: David Krantz and wife Peggy of Albany, GA
Grandchildren: Morgan, Mason, Cooper, and Chelsea Krantz
Nephew Mike Krantz and wife Rebecca, and niece Anna Krantz
Numerous other loving family and friends
He was preceded in death by his parents
