Hollis Whitworth

Funeral services for Hollis Whitworth, age 91, of Alba, will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home with his son-in-law, Roy Prather, officiating. Burial will follow at Long Creek Cemetery in Granbury at 3:30 PM with a visitation starting at 3:00 PM at the cemetery. A formal visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Hollis passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 in Tyler, Texas with family by his side.

Hollis was born on May 8, 1930 in Harrold, Texas to Joe and Myrtle Whitworth, one of five siblings. He was married to Charline White from September 5, 1952 until her death in 1982. He married Patsy Wolfe in Rains County on March 18, 1983. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and would later retire as an Engineering Technician for Bell Helicopter. He was also an avid cattle rancher.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Whitworth; children, Marty Whitworth, Eva Hayward, Michele Foster, Jimmy Wolfe, Judy Prather, Rita Rist, and Rhonda Wilson along with 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

His love for his family was exceeded only by his love for his Lord, Jesus Christ.
