Funeral service for James Alvin Redmon, age 77, of Point, will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at 2:00 pm, at First Baptist Church in Point. Bro Keith Cogburn and Bro. Ray Crumpton will officiate. Burial will follow in Woosley Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Friday evening at the church.
Mr. Redmon was born in Mansfield, July 12, 1937, to George Washington and Evelyn Elizabeth Long Redmon.
He married Jimmie Lavern Latham in Dallas, on Dec. 31, 1968.
Mr. Redmon worked for and retired from Gifford-Hill American in Grand Prairie. He worked as a concrete pipe maker.
He was very much a family man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much....and, they all returned the love to him....wanting to be around him, driving his truck, working with him.....
He will be missed by all....
He is survived by: wife, Lavern Redmon, of Point; 2 sons: Bobby Alvin Redmon (Sissy) of Purdon; Jerry Wayne Redmon (Rita) of Frost and Anthony Lane Redmon (Elizabeth Ann) of Emory.
1 daughter: Teresa Rene' Brown (Guy) of Emory; 2 sisters: Lorita Farmer (L.D.), Anna Bell Morgan; and 1 brother: Larry Martin Redmon (Peggy)
Grandchildren: Christina, Kasondra, Kristin, Felicia, Mathew, Ethan, Kurt Nicholas, Tiffany, Matthew, Justin, Dalton, Cameron, Kelsey, Erica, Abigail, and Nathan
Great- grandchildren: 15 and 1 on the way in April
Preceded by: parents, 3 brothers, Rodney, George, and Pat Redmon; and 1 sister, Betty Farmer
