Jane Marney, born July 30, 1945, passed peacefully to her Christian reward on June26, 2023. She is survived by Charles Marney, her loving husband of 52 years. The happy couple lived in Emory, Texas for over 30 years, being active members of the Emory Baptist Church and involved in local charities including Good Samaritans. They decided to leave their beloved Emory in 2021 to be near family in Georgetown, Texas, for care in their twilight years.
Janie is survived by sons Rick Marney and wife Gail of Haysi, Virginia, Scott Marney of Georgetown, Texas, and Todd Marney and wife Pam of Austin, Texas. Descendants also include 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also mourned by her surviving sibling Bonnie Sue Pettyjohn of Keller, Texas, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Widely known as Mawmaw by her family and younger friends, Janie will be greatly missed not only by her family, but also by the numerous lives she touched. Jane Marney truly loved her Lord, Jesus Christ, her husband Charlie, and her family. Through actions and involvement, she also exhibited her love and her church, its members, and the entire Emory community.
