Point, Texas

Janet Maxwell Jackson, beloved wife, daughter, sister, friend, and adventurer, passed away at the age of 67 in Emory, Texas on Sunday, August 4, 2024. A memorial service for Janet will be Friday, August 9, 2024, at Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Lone Oak.  Visitation beginning at 10:00 am, with the service at 11:00.

She was born on October 20th, 1956, and her journey was marked by her contagious kindness and joyful, free spirit. From a young age, she exhibited a wild sense of adventure, always eager to lead and explore new horizons. An example of this was when she was four years old, and she convinced her little sister to climb onto the roof with her. She never lost her sense of adventure, and it would guide her through the rest of her life.

Janet had a heart as big as her personality. She was known for having the “gift of gab”, making easy conversation with anyone, but she was also known for being a good listener, always offering an ear and helping hand. She knew when your birthday was and would go out of her way to make you feel loved on your special day. Her caring and thoughtful demeanor shone through in everything she did. Whether it was reading her bible every morning with her mom, tending to her flower garden, or casting a line while fishing.

She had an impressive collection of angels, hummingbirds, sea turtles, and rocks - symbols of the beauty she found in the world around her. She would never leave home without adorning herself with her prized jewelry; each piece reflected her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Janet is survived by, husband, Timothy Jackson; children, Abednego Wisdom and wife Keely, Clarence Baze, David Ray Tucker II, Rachael Tucker; siblings, Regena Tucker and husband Glenn, Sharon Hooker and husband Ray, Joanna Hatley; grandchildren, Patience Wisdom, Jacob Wisdom, Holly Cabrara, Christa Duffy, Gavyn Tucker, Charisma Tucker, Constance Evans, Callie Evans, Landon Scott; four great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her cat babies, Lota and Levi.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Calvin Maxwell and Bertha Christine Maxwell (Lucke) and grandson Malachi Wisdom.

Janet Maxwell Jackson will be deeply missed by all who know her. As we mourn the loss of this beautiful soul, let us also celebrate the incredible life she lived and the impact she had on everyone around her.
