Funeral service for Joe Allen Waldrop, age 92, of Emory, will be held on Thursday, 11:00 am,
June 13, 2019 at Emory Baptist Church. Bro. Scott Lowery will officiate, with Mr. Waldrop's
eldest grandson, David Johnson offering the obituary. Burial will follow service in Lone Star Cemetery in Point.
The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. at 10:00 am.
Mr. Waldrop passed away peacefully on Saturday at his residence in Emory.
He was born December 16, 1926, in Greenville, to the parentage of Joseph Bailey and
Sarah Luretta, Robinson Waldrop.
He served his country in the U.S, Navy during the end months of WWII.
He then relisted and served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Waldrop married Katherine Bryant on November 15, 1945 in Greenville. They were
married for some 71 years.
He was an employee of E-Systems for 30 years.
He was a member of Emory Baptist Church.
He loved to fish, work in the yard, read, and for the last several years
he enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles.
Mr. Joe Allen Waldrop will be missed by his family, as well as everyone
who knew and loved him.

Great-great-grandchildren: 4
Numerous other loving family and friends
Preceded in death by: Parents; Wife in 2017; sister; brother;
and, numerous half-brothers and sisters
Interment will follow funeral service in Lone Star Cemetery in Point.
