Joseph Moon

Funeral service for Joseph Henry Moon, age 87, of Point, will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at 1:00 pm, at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Billy Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Clifton Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Moon died at Baylor Health Care, in Dallas, Friday, Oct. 31, 2014.
He was born in Lone Oak, on Aug. 17, 1927, to Oliver Woodson and Addie Lavonia Ray Moon. He married Barbara Garrett, in Alba, on Aug. 29, 1953.
Mr. Moon honored his country by serving in the U.S. Army.
He worked for and retired from Dixico where he worked as a master machinist, and was foreman over the maintenance department.
Survivors include:
2 Sons: Joseph Scott Moon (Carla) of Arlington; and James Wesley Moon (Melinda) of Miller Grove; 1 daughter-in-law, Tracy Moon of Arlington; 2 sisters: Margaret Allison of Lone Oak; and Joyce Knox of Plano; 2 brothers: Gaylan Moon (Bobbye) of Conroe; and Royce Moon of Richardson; Sister-in-law: Shirley Garrett of St. Joe; Grandchildren: Amanda, Jesse, Krista, Katie, Sarah, Kim, Nick, and Mike; Great-grandchildren: Wesley, Natalie, Tye, Luke Madelyn, Eleanor, and Jocelyn; numerous other loving family and friends;
Preceded in death by: parents; wife, Barbara Moon; 1 son, Jeff Moon;
2 brothers: Ray Moon and Oliver Moon, Jr. ("Big Un")
