Joyce was born on February 7, 1934 to Raymond and Mary Hazel Davis in Dallas, Texas. She passed on January 31st, 2023 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She was a most wonderful Mother to her four children. She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Davis and her mother, Mary Hazel Jones, Brothers, Travis Davis and Merle Davis, Ricky Davis, sisters, Gloria Walker and Diane Davis, husband, David C. Northcutt and grandson David Wayne Northcutt.
Joyce is survived by one brother, Truman Davis of Colorado, sister, Barbara Edwards and Wayne of Emory, Texas, children David A. Northcutt and wife Irene of League City, Debra McCormack and Mike of Plano, Dennis Northcutt of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Dewayne Northcutt and Shawn of Emory, Texas, Grandchildren Shirlee Nikole Kempnich of Houston, Monique Mahan of Barbers Hill, Grant Northcutt of Houston, Lonnie Mooring of Lone Oak, Ashley Allen of Ben Wheeler, Amber Allen Carr of Terrell, Jeffrey Northcutt of Cincinnati, Justin Northcutt of Cincinnati and Dewayne Northcutt Jr. of Lindale, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and others who loved her dearly.
In her young years, Joyce worked at the Italian Inn Restaurant in Dallas, Texas. She was a single mom for many years raising four children. During this time, life was hard, she worked a split shift at the Italian Inn from 10 am to 2 am and from 5pm until 11 pm. Although money was tight, she was able to take care of her four children. Many times, she would do without to provide for the kids. She provided good work ethics for her children.
After the children graduated from school and moved out, Joyce was employed by Payless Cashways in Dallas, as a cashier for many years. She was an exemplary employee, always on time and ready to work. Although, she was getting older, she set an example for all the other employees. She always had a smile on her face and was willing to help anyone.
Joyce remarried David C. Northcutt. He was the love of her life. She originally married him when she was 17 years old and given a second chance remarried and they lived together in Emory, Texas until he passed in 2018. Her children always felt welcome at her home and she prepared meals for them every time she had a chance. Joyce was a wonderful cook and no one could ever turn down her home cooked meals. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her ability to make people laugh.
Joyce resided in Emory Texas where she was a housewife, mother and grandmother. She was much loved by all her children and grandchildren. God took home a wonderful lady, who loved and worshiped him in the First Assembly of God Church in Emory, Texas.
