Kathy Gowin

Vera Kathryn Gowin (Harvey) “Kathy” of Emory passed away on October 3, 2020.  Kathy was born March 19, 1949 to AB and Mildred (Fitzgerald) Harvey in Tyler, Texas.  She was married to Pryor Gowin in Rains County at Pilgrim Rest Church on May 26, 1966.  Kathy worked as a nurse and loved gardening, crafts, spending time with her family and her 2 dogs, Sarah Bell and DJ and her cat Sarah Kitty.

Kathy is survived by her husband Pryor; Children: Shane and wife Carol Gowin, Greg Gowin and Rance Gowin.  6 Grandchildren: Joel, Jessica, Shaina, Shayla, Taylor and Trevor; 8 Great Grandchildren; Siblings: Alice Harvey, David Harvey, Alfred Harvey, Clay Harvey, Tim Harvey, Brenda Hickman, Wesley Harvey and Mark Harvey.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Shalla E’Lane.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 10 am at Dunbar Cemetery in Emory, with Pastor Nathan Bounds officiating.
