A funeral service for Kody Pounds, age 22, will take place on November 29, 2023, at 2:30 PM at the Wilson Orwosky Funeral Home. Following the service, there will be an interment ceremony at Smyrna Cemetery located on Co Rd 1308 in Emory, TX. A visitation service will be held on November 28, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Wilson Orwosky. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share memories of this remarkable young man.

Kody Pounds, a hot shot driver for BH Harris Transportation, passed away on November 25, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on February 15, 2001, in Sulphur Springs, TX, to parents Kenneth Pounds Sr. and Bonnie Peterson, Kody brought joy and humor to the lives of all who knew him. His untimely departure has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends.

Known for his free spirit and love for the open road, Kody found his calling as a hot shot driver. His passion for driving took him to new places and allowed him to embrace his adventurous side. It was evident that being behind the wheel was the perfect fit for his vibrant and carefree personality.

Graduating from Edgewood High School in 2019, Kody had a bright future ahead of him. His infectious humor and sarcastic remarks brought smiles to everyone's faces. He had an unparalleled ability to make people laugh and forget their worries. Whether through his witty comebacks or his hilarious anecdotes, Kody's presence was like a ray of sunshine that lit up any room.

Beyond his quick wit and unique ability to entertain others, Kody treasured the relationships he had with his family and friends. He loved spending time with them and was always up for a good time. Kody was the life of every party, spreading laughter and joy wherever he went. His genuine love for his family was evident in everything he did.

Kody is survived by his loving father Kenneth Pounds Sr., adoring sister Sabrina Garza, brothers Kenneth Pounds Jr. and wife Tabitha, William Peterson and wife Jennifer, and Kolton Pounds. He also leaves behind beloved grandma Jan Clifton, uncles Bo Clifton and wife Liz; Billy Lomax, Aunt Nellie Johnson, as well as numerous cousins and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Bonnie Peterson, grandpa Bobby Clifton, grandparents Cecil and Ruth Pounds, Uncle Roy Johnson, and Aunt Joan Lomax.

Kody's departure has left an undeniable void in our lives, but we take solace in knowing that he has left us with cherished memories that will forever warm our hearts. As we say our final goodbyes to this extraordinary soul, let us remember his laughter, his spirit, and his zest for life.

Though Kody's time with us was too brief, his impact on those around him was immeasurable. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. May he find eternal peace and happiness as he embarks on his next great adventure.
