Larry Gene Yearwood, 61, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his home. Funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory. Bro. Kenneth Ballard will officiate. Interment will follow in the Forbis Cemetery in Emory. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 PM, at the funeral home chapel.
Larry was born in Pampa, Texas on December 15, 1952 to Velma Jean Yearwood. He loved the outdoors...fishing, camping, and working in his yard. Larry was a fun jokester and cut up with everyone. He always enjoyed having his family around. He was a very talented musician, playing the piano and he loved to write and sing his own songs. Izzy and Oscar, his little 4 legged companions, were very special to him. He worked as a control specialist at L3 in Greenville for many years.
Survived by his son: Kevin Jon Yearwood of Greenville; and daughter: Kimberly Dawn Yearwood of McKinney; companion and best friend of 17 years: Brenda Heath of Greenville; sister: Brenda O'Dell of Pampa; 2 aunts: Dorothy Yearwood of Pampa, and Jerry Lee Yearwood of Riverside, CA; friend: Jesse Heath of Greenville; work friend: Pat Porch of Sulphur Springs; faithful little companions: Oscar and Izzy; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Preceded by: mother; grandparents: Elmer and Bertha Yearwood; 1 brother: Billy Bush; aunt and uncle: Leona and Jessie Smart.
