Lloyd Giles

A celebration of life visitation for Lloyd Giles, age 80, of Emory will be held on Monday, May 9, 2022, at Daugherty Baptist Church from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Lloyd passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Greenville Gardens in Greenville, TX.

Lloyd Giles was born to Lloyd Earnest and Quida (Rice) Giles on August 26, 1941, in Greenville, Texas. He graduated from Emory High School and then went on to complete a bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University. Giles married Doris (Cooke) Giles and had three sons together. He worked as an automotive technician at Greenville Ford.  He was known as an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time working on his garden. He also served as a Deacon at the Daughtry Baptist Church.

Giles is survived by his wife, Doris Giles; sons, Jeff Giles and his wife Emily, Jon Giles and his wife Amber, Jason Giles and his wife Tabitha; his brother Bobby Giles; twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by both parents, and his brother, Charles Giles.
