Lula Gowin

Lula Oleta Gowin, 86, of Emory, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs, TX. Lula was born on March 27, 1928 in Rains County to William Theodore and Susie Viola Barrett Powell. She married Elige Gowin on September 4, 1944.

Oleta was a member of Bright Star Baptist Church.

Funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, in Emory, with Bro. Jerry Jackson and Justin High officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1-2 PM. Serving as pallbearers will be: Don Gowin, Ronnie Gowin, Danny Pat Gowin, Don High, Paul Lane and Michael Bumgardner.

Survivors include: daughter: Cindrea "Cindy" Gowin; 2 sisters: Betty Bumgardner of Wichita Falls, and Carolyn High, and husband, Don, of Belton; 2 nieces: Debbie Suttle, and husband, Quinton, of Sulphur Springs and Sheila McCormack, and husband, Huck, of Sulphur Springs; nephew: Paul Lane of Sulphur Springs; numerous other loving nieces and nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Preceded by: parents, husband, Elige Gowin, in 1993; 4 sisters: Colleen Barnum, Marguerite Potts, Pattie Lane and Doris Smith
