Mrs. Jacobs died on October 11, 2024, in Greenville. She was born on November 9, 1921, in Point, to Johnny Ransom Rivers and Jane Ann “Jennie” Slider Rivers. She attended school at Woosley, where she was captain of the basketball team. She married J.P. Jacobs on May 22, 1938. She was known for her sweet, loving and outgoing personality. She was a hard worker, had a servant heart, loved to take care of people, and would often sit with the sick or elderly when she was able. Her proudest achievement was her family. Her legacy continues through her children and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jacobs loved to spend time in her garden as well as work on her many sewing projects. She enjoyed playing board games or working puzzles with her family and friends. She never missed an opportunity to attend church and always looked forward to Taco Tuesday with members of her church family. She loved to go and she loved a good party. She especially enjoyed visiting with people and was delighted to have company - often leaving others with a smile and the phrase, “Come see me!”

She will be remembered not only for her legacy of love and life, but also for the profound impact she had on the lives of all who knew her. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for her family and friends, as they continue to share and celebrate the moments that made life with Margie so special.

Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Olga Field; brothers, Billy Rivers, Tump Rivers, J.R. Rivers, Harrell Rivers, Chester Rivers and Buford Rivers; sons, James Jacobs and Dennis Jacobs; grandson, Macky Jacobs; and great-granddaughter, Shawnya Jacobs.

She is survived by brother, Buster Rivers and wife Merlyn of Point; sons, Troy Jacobs and wife Suzanne of Emory, and Johnny Paul Jacobs of Little Elm; daughter, Elaine Roberts and husband Johnny of Rowlett; grandsons John Hines and wife Jenifer of Kingman, AZ, Reggie Roberts and wife Debra of Rowlett, Johnny Jacobs and wife Mary of Dallas, and Joshua Jacobs and wife Sharon of Caddo Mills; granddaughters, Lorie Odle of Point, Regina Schirmer and husband Dwight of Murphy, Adina Jacobs of Emory, Jennifer Hill and husband Trey of Emory, and Kara Wagner and husband John of Point; fifteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
