Born on February 28, 1950, in Greenville, Texas, Mary Anna's life was marked by her unwavering compassion for others and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel special.
Her legacy will be honored during visitation on October 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home, 803 N. Texas St., Emory, TX 75440. A funeral service is scheduled for October 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM, also at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home. Following the service, interment will take place at Hooker Ridge Cemetery, 7693 FM 513, Lone Oak, TX 75453, at 3:00 PM.
Mary Anna dedicated her professional life to nurturing young minds as a daycare teacher and later contributing to the well-being of patients as a member of the hospital cafeteria staff. Her skills extended beyond her professional roles; she was also known as a great negotiator and demonstrated a determination that could only be described as stubborn when the occasion called for it. Yet, these qualities were always tempered by a generous spirit and a loving heart when needed.
She was known for viewing everyone as important, taking the time to connect with each person she encountered. Her love for family was apparent as she tirelessly supported them and took up the slack when needed, embodying the essence of a devoted partner and cherished friend.
Mary Anna is survived by her husband of 59 years, John Overstreet; son, James Overstreet Sr.; daughter, Pamela Brady; grandsons, James Overstreet Jr., Justin William Overstreet and Daniel Lee Brady; nephew, Chris Jones; brother-in-law, Jerry Noble and wife Sonya; sister-in-law, Barbara Black. She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Reding and Robey Grey Roberts; sister, Joyce Elaine Jones.
Mary Anna Overstreet leaves behind enduring memories of her kindness, strength, and love, which will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the light she brought to the world.
