Emory, Texas - Michael Lynn Foster, affectionately known as "Grampy," passed away on June 20, 2024, at Christus Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He was born on December 24, 1951, in Kaufman, Texas.
Michael led a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and dedication Graduating from Rains High School in 1970, he went on to serve our country honorably in the United States Air Force before embarking on a distinguished 35-year career at E-Systems, L3. His work ethic and commitment were truly admirable.
Known for his sense of humor and his favorite phrase advising his grown grandsons to be sure to check the oil, water, tire pressure of his tractor and don’t let his tractor get sunburned, Michael had a way of bringing joy to those around him. He was a rock to all in his family, embodying compassion and a deep faith that inspired those who knew him. If you knew him and the family, you’ll know his presence sprinkled down to three generations.
Michael's proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He dedicated himself to supporting them wholeheartedly by attending every game and driving long distances to ensure he never missed a practice. His unconditional love and unwavering presence will forever be cherished by his family.
In his free time, Michael found joy in "stirring the pot," a hobby he embraced wholeheartedly. This zest for life and ability to find humor in every situation endeared him to many.
Family and friends are invited to honor Michael's memory at the visitation scheduled for June 27, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wilson - Orwosky Chapel in Emory, Texas. A graveside service will follow on June 28th at Emory City Cemetery starting at 9:00 AM.
Michael Lynn Foster leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be forever treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Foster; mother, Maxine Foster; children, Gay Hill and husband Tony, Patricia Patrick and husband Rodney, Phillip Smith; grandchildren, Billy Hill and wife Brittainy, John Michael Hill and wife Stormi, Kristin Perales and husband Ricky, Rilee Smith, Jordan Smith, Evan Patrick, Eric Patrick; great grandchildren, Dawson Hill, Casten Hill, Scarlett Hill, Eli Hill, Elayna Hill, Liam Perales; siblings, Rhonda Simmons and husband Roy, Susan Foster; nephew, Chad Simmons; niece, Michelle Combs. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Foster; brother, Pat Foster; granddaughter, Lacey Hill; nephews, Derek Tanton, Jerriod Tanton.
