Mike Carter

Funeral service for Mike Carter, of Point, will be held at County Line Baptist Church in Point on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 11am.  There will be a visitation 1 hour prior to the funeral.  Internment service will be at Greenview Cemetery.

Mike was born on October 5, 1946, to John Henry Carter and Edith Williams in Sulphur Springs, TX.  He died Saturday January 22, 2022, at Hunt Regional Medical Center.

Mike graduated from Miller Grove High School.  He worked in law enforcement and served as Rains County Sheriff from 1976 to 1984.  He retired from L-3 as security.  He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of County Line Baptist Church.

Mike is survived his daughter, Brandi Sells and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Darynn Thorn and husband Chris, Breanna Sells, Hanna Sells; One great grand child on the way; sisters, Nona Vickers, Bonnie Fry, Jo Mitchell.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Carter.
