Modis McMillan

Funeral service for Modis Robinson McMillan, age 88, of Emory, will be held Dec. 17, 2014, 11:00 am, at Emory Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery.
Rev. Willie R. Byrd will officiate.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, 6:00-8:00 pm at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.
Mrs. McMillan was born in Emory, Dec. 13, 1925, to Henry and Lucy Bridges Robinson.
She married Alfred Clifton McMillan, in Emory,
Mrs. McMillan was a member of Prairie Grove Baptist Church.
She belonged to the Heriones of Jericho, Rains Geneology Society, Texas Association of Museums, and the Garden Club, to mention a few.
She was the operator of A.C. McMillan African-American Museum in Emory.

Great-grandchildren: Mechelle Edwawrds, Mitchell Edwards, II; Taylor McMillan; Timothy McMillan; Preston Lawe, Blair Williams; Sydney Hargrove; Aaron Hargrove; and William Hargrove;
Great-great-grandchild: Mitchell Edwards, III
She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 son, Jewel "Chief"
McMillan; and all of her siblings: Elma Hobbs, Virgie Potter, Lonnie Robinson, Loda Kendrick, Gletha Davis, Ozell Robinson, Lorenza Robinson, and Choycie Robinson
