Myrtle Wallace, a beloved mother and friend, passed away on December 14, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on January 19, 1947, to James Thomas Yates and Ethel Patterson Yates. As the next to youngest of six siblings, Myrtle was cherished by her three brothers and two sisters, remaining close to her family throughout her life despite the early loss of her father.

She married Eugene Anderson Arnold from 1962 until their separation in 1975, from which they had four children. Later, Myrtle married David Wallace in 1980, until his passing on June 7, 2024. They had two children together.

Myrtle's professional journey began when she collaborated with her husband, David Wallace, at his excavating company in Quinlan, Texas, where she worked from 1978 until 1985. Her dedication to service continued as she became a bus driver for Rains Independent School District from 1994 until her retirement in 2001. Known for her kindness and commitment, Myrtle touched the lives of many people in her community during her career.

She had a vibrant personality that shone through her many hobbies and interests. Myrtle had a passion for reading, particularly enjoying mystery novels, and loved to unwind by watching mystery television shows or movies. Myrtle found joy in the great outdoors, especially fishing with David or working together in their vegetable garden. A lover of nature, she took special pride in her rose garden, cultivating beautiful roses that adorned her yard.

Myrtle Wallace will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her meaningful contributions to her community, and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, resilience, and deep love that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives.

She is preceded in death by, Husband, David Wallace; father, James Yates and mother, Ethel Patterson Yates; brothers, Doug Yates and Gary Yates; sisters, Mary Yates and Peggy Wilson; daughter, Rosalind Walker and grandson, Ronald Marshall Jr. 

Myrtle is survived by: Daughter, Mary Ann Cowart of Emory, TX; son, Eugene “Skip” Arnold of Emory, TX and wife Theresa Arnold; daughter, Dallas Theurer of Point, TX and husband Jason Theurer; daughter, Jennifer Wallace of Emory, TX; son, John Wallace of Emory, TX; stepdaughter, Christy Owen of McKinney, TX and husband Wayne Owen; stepson, Chris Wallace of Howe, TX; stepdaughter, Denise Lamothe of Tomball, TX and husband Steve Lamothe; stepdaughter, Darlene Kitchens of Dallas, TX; stepdaughter, Charlene Blanchard of Parkland, FL and husband Augusto Blanchard; stepdaughter, Sharon Wallace of Dallas, TX and 20 Grandchildren and many Great-grandchildren.
