Patricia Ann "Granny Pat" Rives

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Rives, affectionately known as "Granny Pat". Her gentle soul departed this world on April 30th, 2023 surrounded by family at the age of 84. 

Patricia was born on March 8th, 1939 in Commerce, Texas to Jesse L. Smith and Isla M. Allen. She was the epitome of a homemaker and nurturer, dedicating her life to raising her family whom she adored. Patricia had a heart filled with love and kindness for everyone she met, leaving an unforgettable impact on all those fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

In her free time, Patricia enjoyed watching the Dallas Mavericks and playing games such as cards or dominoes with her husband and cooking delicious meals from scratch for those she loved most. She found joy in the simple things in life and cherished spending quality time with her family.

Patricia is survived by her daughters Terri Furman and husband Ronnie of Galveston, Tobi Rives of Emory, Tammy Reid and husband Tony of Alba, and Tonya Rives of Emory; grandchildren Eric Christian and wife Savanna, Kaci Reid, Justin Christian and wife Mackenzi, Brandon Pitre and wife Britney, Anthony Reid and wife Kaylea, Sharyse McDowell and husband Dakota, and Ami Pitre; great-grandchildren Bailey, Kason, Brody, Barrett, Eastin, Berklee, Lincoln, Dakota, Skylar, Rylee, Isla, Hunter, Emma, Isaac and Lila  - all who will deeply miss their Granny Pat's warm smile that lit up a room.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse L. Smith and Isla M. Allen Smith as well as her loving husband of 66 years, Isaac W. Rives.

The family would like to thank everyone who has expressed their condolences during this difficult time. Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love which will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Patricia.
