Ronald Charles Murley, known affectionately as Ronnie, passed away peacefully at his home in Emory, Texas on September 22, 2023. Born on April 11, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, Ronnie led a remarkable life filled with passion and dedication.

Ronnie dedicated an astounding 50 years of his life to the construction industry. However, he never viewed his career as mere work; it was his true calling. The love he possessed for his craft was evident to all who knew him. Ronnie's enthusiasm and expertise were unmatched, making him an inspiring figure to those fortunate enough to work by his side. He was not just a boss; he was a leader who garnered the respect and admiration of everyone on his team.

Outside the construction site, Ronnie had a zest for life that endeared him to all who crossed his path. His passions included country music, dancing, and entertaining the women in his life. Whether it was at local dance halls or family gatherings, Ronnie lit up every room with his infectious energy and captivating moves.

Described as a down-to-earth good guy, Ronnie's personality was one that drew people in and created lasting connections. He worked hard during the day under the scorching sun, but would seamlessly transition into dancing the night away with grace and joy. He found immense pleasure in leading a balanced life that involved hard work as well as cherished moments of lightheartedness.

Ronnie served his country with pride and bravery during the Vietnam War as a member of the Army. His military service further exemplified his selflessness and commitment to something greater than himself. The courage he displayed during those difficult times shaped him into the resilient individual he became.

In addition to his professional achievements and character traits, Ronnie had several hobbies that brought him solace and fulfillment. Gardening was one of these passions – tending to plants and nurturing their growth brought him a sense of calm and connectedness to nature. Additionally, Ronnie found joy in working in his beloved pecan orchard, shaping the landscape and reaping the rewards of his labor.

One of Ronnie's proudest accomplishments was relocating to Emory in 1975. This decision allowed him to establish deep roots within the community and forge lifelong friendships. The impact he had on those around him cannot be overstated. Ronnie's generosity and support knew no bounds, and he was always there for his loved ones when they needed him most.

Ronnie is survived by his wife and best friend, Marie Sanchez; sons, Dusty Murley and Jason Werneking; grandchildren, Millie Sue Murley and Miles Jones Murley; brother, Ralph Sanchez and good friend, Carolyn Pichard.
