Ruby Gaby or lovingly known as Granny in her later years, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, in Emory, Texas. Born on July 26, 1934, She was a cherished matriarch and known for her sweet disposition and kind-hearted nature, Ruby's journey through life was one of warmth, nurturing, and love—a beacon to all who had the fortune to know her.

She was a proud graduate of Rains High School. Granny married the love of her life, Lloyd "Boy" Gaby, on May 31, 1952, and they spent 69 wonderful years building a life together before he passed away in 2021.

Granny was a devoted wife, loving granny, and an exemplary homemaker, she created an environment steeped in the love and compassion that only she could provide. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, where freshly baked chocolate chip cookies were offered to all who entered. The smell of those warm treats wafting through the air was but a small reflection of the comfort and joy she consistently brought into the lives of her family.

Her talents and interests were as vast as her heart. She was a talented quilter, pickle maker, as well as gardener, often having the prettiest yard in town. She was also a lifelong member of The First Assembly of Yahvah.

Despite the demands of her many roles, Granny always found time for others. She was a founder of the Good Samaritan here in Emory, offering her time and kindness. She dedicated herself tirelessly in service to her community.

Granny’s greatest joy came from the moments spent with her family, especially her grandkids. Their laughter echoing through her home was music to her ears, and each gathering was marked by her love. She created cherished memories that will forever resonate within the hearts of those she adored.

As we reflect upon the remarkable life of Ruby J. Gaby, we remember not only her accomplishments, but the sweetness she sprinkled across the lives of many. Her legacy, marked by love, kindness, and a deep commitment to family and community, will continue to shine brightly. While her earthly presence is now gently laid to rest, the lessons she taught and the love she shared will linger on, timeless and cherished in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen, Mark, Doug and wife Cindy, Jerry and wife Traci; grandchildren, Joshua and wife Alexa, Mathew, Andrew and wife Carlie; David and wife Brandi, Kevin and wife Rikki, Micah and wife Megan, Nathan, Magen and husband Cody, Trevor, Austin Sarah, Gabriella and Ryan; brothers, Billy Mac Adair and wife Carol; sister, Martha Wilds and numerous great and great-great grandkids.
