Yantis

Sharon Terpening, a loving and nurturing soul, passed away on July 17, 2023, at her home in Yantis. Born in Greenville, Texas, on January 6, 1962, to parents Jack VanHuss and Loraine (fuglistaler) VanHuss. Sharon was an incredible woman who touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.

Sharon embarked on a remarkable career journey that spanned over two decades. She dedicated seventeen years to working at E-Systems before transitioning into a new role as a teacher's aide at RISD for several years. Her commitment to education and her devotion to helping others shone brightly throughout her career.

However, Sharon's impact extended far beyond the workplace. She made herself available to her children by attending every extracurriculars or games. She had an unparalleled passion for caring for those around her. Known for her warm heart and open arms, she welcomed anyone who needed it and effortlessly assumed the role of a second mother to them. Her unique ability to nurture and support made her an invaluable friend and confidante.

When she wasn't busy spreading love and kindness to those in need, Sharon enjoyed indulging in various hobbies that brought her immense joy. Crafting was one of her greatest passions, and she poured her heart into creating beautiful pieces of art. Her exquisite talent was particularly evident when tending to her beloved garden, where she cultivated vibrant roses that bloomed with life.

In addition to crafting and gardening, Sharon found solace in exploring her family's genealogy. She took great pleasure in tracing the roots of her loved ones and discovering the stories of generations past. Alongside her husband, she relished spending time on their boat, engaging in friendly competition as they fished together. Another cherished pastime was going to the casino with her son Marty; the shared excitement and laughter were truly priceless.

Sharon's love for teaching extended not only to those outside of her family but also within it. Her granddaughter Jordan held a special place in Sharon's heart; together, they would spend quality time crafting and cooking. At the Scarborough Fair, Sharon loved to go with her daughter Staci and would embark on fun-filled adventures, creating memories that will be treasured forever. One of her favorite things to do was to sit and listen to her grandson Kaleb play the piano and sing.

Even amidst her bustling schedule, Sharon found joy in hosting unforgettable holiday parties for her neighbors and friends. These gatherings were a testament to her immense love for creating warm and welcoming environments that fostered laughter, camaraderie, and lifelong friendships.

Surrounded by her loved ones, Sharon peacefully passed away. Her legacy will forever live on through the imprints she left on people's hearts. Her kind spirit, nurturing soul, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends will continue to inspire and guide us all.

She leaves behind her loving husband Scott, her son Marty Lee Renfro and daughter Staci Lynn Renfro, granddaughter Jordan Boles, grandson Kaleb Carter, sisters; Sue Kleeshulte, Laurie Thomas and husband Jim, and Carol Renfro, and her brother Larry VanHuss. She is preceded by her parents, and brother Bobby Allen VanHuss.
