Terry Jill Asbill

Terry Jill McGowan Asbill was born on October 29, 1948, and died June 27, 2023, at the age of 74.  She married Dwain Asbill in her parents’ home in Miller Grove, August 6, 1965, when she was 16 years old.  Dwain was 19.  She graduated Miller Grove High School the next year in 1966.  Terry and Dwain have lived in the Bonanza community since 1984.

They have one son, Jeff Asbill, married to Megan Asbill, living in Bonanza, Texas; daughter, Rhonda Allbritton, is married to Jerry Allbritton, and live in Emory, Texas; They have 2 grandsons, Preston Asbill lives in Emory, Texas and Jarrett Allbritton and his wife, Dezaray, live in Alba, Texas; step-grandson, Seth Welborn, lives in Van, Texas; 2 great-grandsons, Kaidyn Asbill of Emory, Texas and Damen Asbill of Sulphur Springs, Texas; great-granddaughter, Bexley Allbritton, lives in Alba, Texas; brother, Gary McGowan, and his wife, Laura, live in Terrell, Texas.  Terry and Dwain have many nieces and nephews.  Terry’s sister-in-law, Barbara Hall, and best friend, Pat Reep, live in Emory, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Cook McGowan; father, Bascom McGowan, and brother, Maloy McGowan.

Terry was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church for 55 years.  Her favorite saying was “I am a Christian by grace, a Baptist by choice.”
