A funeral service for Thomas “Tommy” Thompson, age 73, of Emory Texas, will be held on Saturday, September 7, 9 a.m. at Wilson Orwosky Funeral Chapel in Emory with Robert Burns officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, September 6, 2024, from 6-8 p.m.. Interment will be at Turner Cemetery with Tucker McAllister, Randy Cole, Sam Harvey, Stephen Stringfellow, Devin Thompson and Wyndell Luckett serving as pallbearers and Michael McAllister as honorary pallbearer.

Thomas L. Thompson, a cherished member of our community and a beloved family man, passed away on September 2, 2024, at the age of 73. He was born February 17, 1951, Tommy lived a full life marked by dedication, humor, and an unwavering spirit.

Tommy graduated from Rains High School, where he left a lasting impression as a proud wildcat. His lively personality and trademark sense of humor were already evident during his early years

An engineer by profession, Tommy dedicated himself to a long career as a metal fabricator and draftsman, a role he approached with both passion and pride. His work was not merely a job; it reflected his commitment and creativity.

His time in the Air Force stood as another pivotal chapter in his life, serving his country with honor and resilience. He had an infectious entrepreneurial spirit, often bubbling over with new and exciting business ideas, captivating friends and family alike with his visions of success. He also had a remarkable skill at playing pool, where he spent countless hours perfecting his game.

Tommy's tenacity was rivaled only by his sense of humor. Known for his ability to crack a joke to diffuse tense situations, he brought laughter into the lives of those around him, despite his sometimes-questionable timing. Friends and family will forever cherish the lighthearted moments he created, serving as a reminder that laughter is a powerful tool in life.

His proudest accomplishments included his beloved son and his work as a draftsman, both examples of his enduring legacy. He poured his heart and soul into his family and craft, displaying a level of dedication that resonated deeply with everyone he encountered.

Tommy is survived by his son, Thomas Levi Thompson Jr. and his wife Jaime; sister, Denise Harvey; brothers, Robert Thompson and Steven Thompson; sister-in-law, Cathy Henson; grandsons, Tommy Thompson, Dillon Thompson, Michael McAllister II, Tucker McAllister; great grandchildren, Reagan Thompson, Easton Thompson Abrianna Thompson, Ace Thompson, Carleigh Finley.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Etta Thompson; siblings Eddie L. Thompson Jr. Sherry Thompson; Ray Thompson and Monroe Humphrey.
