Wilbur "Red" Wiley, known for his warm personality and unwavering love for his family and country, passed away, Thursday, July 11, 2024, in Tyler Texas. He was born on October 30, 1934 in Hardin, Ohio to James Alexander Wiley and Mary Margaret Peters. Red proudly served in the Army and Air Force for 26 years His burial service will be held on July 22, 2024 at DFW National Cemetery at 10:30 am
During his life, Wilbur was married to his beloved wife, Marlene, for 45 years. Their union in Barnesville, Ohio on October 17, 1955, blessed them with four children. He was a devoted and loving father who always made sure to be present for his family. Even when he was on deployment, Wilbur stayed in touch through innovative ways like reel-to-reel communication. His commitment to providing for his loved ones knew no bounds.
Aside from his military service and family life, Wilbur had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He enjoyed watching football games, especially cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. An avid clock builder with a passion for antique shopping, he found solace in those activities.
Wilbur is survived by his daughters, Lori Breaux and Barbara Wiley; son, Robert Eugene Wiley; grandchildren, Charles Ray Breaux, Jason Alexander Breaux, Michael Adam Wiley, Kaitlyn Wiley, and Cody James Wiley; as well as great-grandchildren Eva Breaux, Owen Breaux, Callie Breaux, Sean Breaux, Marlene Wiley and Aiden Wiley
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marlene Wiley; daughters, Rhoda Coleen MacMurray and Debra Rene` Wiley.
In loving memory of Wilbur "Red" Wiley's generous spirit and kind heart that touched the lives of many around him. May he rest in peace knowing the legacy of love he leaves behind.
